Avalon's headshop has been part of what we do since 2009. It covers the full range of accessories you need to work well with what you enjoy: grinders, bongs, scales, extraction systems, rolling papers and everything in between. Every product here has been selected on actual quality, not on margin or how it photographs.
Not sure what you need? Our blog covers plenty of practical guides, and our customer support team is on hand to help you choose.
The term goes back to the 1960s in the United States. First stores selling accessories associated with cannabis and psychedelic culture. Over the decades, the category became recognisable: a shop that sells paraphernalia and accessories for smoking and related activities, without selling regulated substances directly.
What started in physical stores in university towns has largely moved online. Wider range, clearer prices, no pressure. The downside: quality differences between suppliers are vast, and cheap products regularly disappoint.
We have been selecting headshop products since 2009. In that time we have learned which products hold up and which ones look fine in a photo but fall apart within weeks. What you see in our catalogue reflects that knowledge.
Consistently underestimated. People buy the cheapest option, then wonder why the teeth bend, the lid will not close or there is fine metal dust in what they just ground. The difference between a decent grinder and a bad one affects the quality of everything downstream.
We stock aluminium, zinc alloy and stainless steel. Anodised aluminium is the sweet spot for most people: lightweight, wear-resistant, easy to clean. Stainless steel grinds finer and lasts longer but costs more. Acrylic is cheap but wears down noticeably after a few months.
Worth the extra investment if you use them regularly. The amount of material that accumulates over time surprises most people the first time they look.
Few headshop products show as much quality variation as bongs. Thin Chinese glass looks fine on arrival and shatters in the sink within weeks. Borosilicate with a wall thickness of four millimetres or more is chemically inert, heat resistant and genuinely durable.
Our glass range is built almost entirely around borosilicate. Not the cheapest, but the most honest option. A bong that lasts three years costs less per session than one replaced every few months.
Effectively unbreakable, often foldable, dishwasher safe. The trade-off: glass gives a cleaner taste. Silicone is ideal for travel or for people who have already broken one glass bong too many. We offer both with clear information about what each brings.
For a specific kind of customer. Someone who knows what they are making and needs the right equipment. Rosin presses, isopropanol extraction supplies, bubble hash bags and accessories.
Our rosin presses span from compact manual models to units with digital temperature control. Smaller manual presses work for occasional home use. Digital models matter when consistency across batches is important. Every listing includes specifications and intended use in plain language.
If dose matters, a kitchen scale that reads to the nearest gram is not good enough.
Our scales measure to 0.01g or 0.001g depending on the model. At a working dose of 0.1g, being off by 0.05g is a fifty percent error. We stock calibrated scales with calibration weights, compact format and readable displays. Cheap scales that drift out of calibration within a week serve no one.
Seem like a small purchase. In practice, real difference between a paper that burns evenly and one that runs, burns too fast or adds unwanted flavour. Rice papers are thin, slow-burning, least taste. Hemp papers have a slight earthy character. Wood pulp is the most widely used, not the most refined.
Our blunt wraps cover tobacco leaf and tobacco-free alternatives from hemp or palm leaf. Demand for tobacco-free has risen sharply. Some avoid nicotine for health reasons. Others prefer cleaner flavour. We carry both without pushing one over the other.
Glass pipes in our range are borosilicate as standard. Metal pipes are more durable but cool slower between sessions. Wooden pipes produce a warm, mellow smoke but need more maintenance.
The broader smoking accessories category: tips, roach books, lighters, cleaning solutions, ash catchers. None of it exciting. All of it useful. We keep it in stock reliably.
Thousands of years of history across cultures from India to Japan, the Middle East to the Amazon basin. Long before aromatherapy became a marketing category.
Our incense range: sticks, cones and resins. Japanese incense from Nippon Kodo burns clean and precise. Indian Nag Champa is more aromatic and diffusive. Palo Santo from South America has a distinctive woody, sweet smoke. Resins like frankincense and benzoin on charcoal discs are the most intense option.
Incense is also simply effective at neutralising other smells. Less poetic, but worth mentioning.
Designed for nasal administration of dry plant powders, primarily used with Rapé. Our snuff accessories include kuripes, tepi tubes and storage containers.
Rapé has a long ceremonial history among indigenous peoples in the Amazon basin and has become considerably more visible in Europe over the past decade. We supply the accessories; Rapé itself is available in our herb and extract sections.
Smell-proof bags where quality difference between cheap and good is immediately obvious. The most affordable versions lose their seal within a week. Our stash products are selected on actual odour containment performance.
Airtight glass jars are the best option for dried herbs. They exclude moisture, block light and add no flavour. Vacuum containers go a step further. We also carry discreet storage items with concealed compartments.
One of the most practical things in this section. Fill empty gelatine or vegetable capsules with whatever powder you choose, in the dose you decide. Complete ingredient control and precise dosing.
We carry machines for size 0 and 00, with bulk empty capsules in both gelatine and vegan options. A 24-capsule plate machine fills a batch in a fraction of the time. Size 00 is the most common choice for adults: approximately 500-800mg depending on density.
Since 2009. Grinders with teeth that bent after two weeks. Bongs that shattered in the dishwasher. Scales that read 0.2g high. Smell-proof bags that smelled of anything but proof. Those experiences shaped the current catalogue.
Not every product that came through our warehouse stayed. Products that failed basic quality expectations were removed, suppliers changed. Over 1,500 products across the full range. In the headshop section specifically, fewer options than most competitors. More confidence that each one is worth your money.
Discreet packaging across Europe. Glass bongs packed with foam and bubble wrap as standard. Orders before the daily cutoff ship the same working day in most cases.
Questions about compatibility, sizing or which product suits your use? Our customer support team gives real answers. More about who we are on our about page.
A grinder that is not clean grinds worse. A bong that is not maintained pulls harder and tastes wrong. Sounds obvious. Most people still maintain their equipment less consistently than they intend to.
Isopropanol at 90% or higher is standard for glass. Coarse salt as abrasive for stubborn residue, seal the openings, shake firmly, rinse thoroughly. Weekly cleaning beats monthly deep treatment. Same for grinders: a quick brush-out every few sessions keeps teeth sharper and prevents old material from affecting fresh flavour.
A scale does not need cleaning like glass, but it does need recalibrating when it moves location or when you doubt the reading. Almost every scale we carry comes with a calibration weight. Use it. Especially at two or three decimal places.
Incense holders, pipes and small accessories: dry cloth for dust, occasional careful wash. Wooden pipes: never soak them. Store dry.
We do not work with wholesale distributors shipping the same catalogue to twenty shops. Our supplier relationships are specific and built over years. For borosilicate glass: documented wall thickness and composition. For grinders: which alloys, how the anodised finish is applied. For scales: sensor specifications and calibration method.
Sounds like details no one cares about. They explain why a product from us lasts longer than a superficially similar version from elsewhere. Material selection is a practical decision that shows up in how long something lasts.
One part of a broader offer. Many customers who start here go on to explore magic truffles, kratom, medicinal mushrooms, kanna or CBD products. The scale here is equally relevant for accurate dosing of a herb extract. The capsule machine ideal for anyone who prefers not to take loose powders.
Questions about how headshop products connect with other items? Our customer support team is happy to help. The blog also covers practical articles on storage, combinations and responsible use.
A bong filters smoke through water, producing a cooler and smoother hit. A pipe delivers smoke directly without water filtration, giving a more immediate and intense experience. Bongs are generally preferred for larger hits with less throat irritation. Pipes are more compact and straightforward to use on the go.
A four-piece anodised aluminium grinder with a pollen catcher covers most everyday needs. The anodised coating resists wear, the teeth stay sharp longer than cheaper alternatives and the pollen catcher makes sure nothing goes to waste. Stainless steel is the upgrade if you want something that grinds even finer and lasts even longer.
Isopropanol at 90% or above combined with coarse salt is the most effective method for glass. Add both, seal the openings, shake well and rinse thoroughly with warm water. For heavy residue, an overnight soak in pure isopropanol works well. Silicone bongs can go straight into the dishwasher.
Depending on the model, our scales measure to 0.1g, 0.01g or 0.001g. For most herb and extract applications, 0.01g is the most practical choice. Models reading to 0.001g are designed for applications where working doses are in the milligram range.
Yes. Everything in our headshop is legal in the Netherlands. These are accessories and tools, not regulated substances. If you are ordering from another country, we recommend checking local regulations, particularly for extraction equipment in countries with stricter cannabis-related laws.
Yes, we carry downstems, bowls and other replacement parts. When ordering, pay attention to joint diameter (14mm or 18mm are the most common) and downstem length. If you are unsure what size fits your piece, send us a photo through customer support and we will advise.
A capsule machine has a base plate with holes for the capsule bodies, a filling plate and a closing press. You place the capsule halves in the base, add your powder, spread it evenly with the scraper provided, then press the top halves on with the closing plate. The first batch takes a few minutes to get the hang of. After that it is quick and consistent.
Yes, we ship across Europe. Delivery times and shipping costs vary by destination. You can check current rates and estimates at checkout or on our shipping page.
