Sananga Drops
Sananga is a traditional eye drop from the Amazon, derived from the Tabernaemontana undulata plant. These eye drops are said to have a deeply cleansing and healing effect, not only physically, but also mentally and spiritually. The main users of Sananga are the tribes known as Matsés and Kaxinawá, who live in the Amazon. These people have used the plant for centuries and it was then incorporated into their spiritual and medicinal practices. The traditional preparation was an aqueous extraction of the roots and bark. The resulting liquid was strong and applied directly to the eyes.
