Microdosing means taking a very small amount of psilocybin from magic truffles. So small you don't trip. No hallucinations, no visual effects. What many users do report are subtle shifts in creativity, focus or mood. We supply fresh microdosing truffles that are vacuum sealed and pre-measured, so you can start a responsible protocol straight away.

A fraction of a trip dose. With fresh magic truffles: 0.5 to 2 grams per session, compared to 10-15 grams for a trip. No hallucinations. Consciousness stays unchanged. You function normally.
What users report is more subtle. A slightly clearer head. More motivation to start a creative project. Less struggle finding the right words in a difficult conversation. Not dramatic effects, and not equally strong for everyone. But for a growing group of people, enough reason to make microdosing a structural part of their routine.
We have been selling magic truffles since 2009 and watched the interest in microdosing grow significantly. Where customers used to order almost exclusively full trip doses, a substantial share of our truffle sales now goes toward microdosing. The questions have changed too. Less "how strong are these truffles?" and more "which protocol do you recommend?" That shift tells you something.
Psilocybin. After ingestion your body converts it into psilocin, structurally similar to serotonin. Psilocin binds to serotonin 2A receptors in the brain.
At a full dose: visual effects, dissolved sense of self, intense experiences. At a microdose: none of that. The action takes place at a different level, in the background, in the communication between brain regions. That subtlety is precisely what sets microdosing apart from a trip.
Psilocybin works through the serotonin system, not dopamine like most stimulants. That is why users describe the experience as clear and calm rather than wired or jittery. Not a coffee replacement. Not a focus pill. It works differently.
Microdosing every day does not work. Your body builds tolerance to psilocybin within a day. Take the same amount the next morning and you will feel less. After three days in a row, the effect is practically gone. Rest days are required.
By far the most popular. Developed by psychologist James Fadiman over decades of collecting self-reports.
Day 1: microdose. Day 2: no dose, subtle aftereffects possible. Day 3: off, back to baseline. Repeat for four to eight weeks, then at least two weeks break.
The strength is the contrast. Alternating between days with and without a dose teaches you to recognise the difference. Without that alternation, after two weeks you will not know what is the microdose and what is just your normal state. Most of our customers who start with Fadiman stick with it.
Mycologist Paul Stamets: four consecutive days of microdosing, three off. But the real difference is stacking. Psilocybin combined with Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) and niacin (vitamin B3).
The idea: Lion's Mane amplifies neuroplastic effects, niacin as a vasodilator helps distribute the compounds. Logical on paper. Hard scientific proof does not exist yet, but the protocol has a loyal following. Customers with prior experience tend to switch to Stamets. Beginners nearly always start with Fadiman.
Two fixed days per week. The nightcap protocol, where you take the microdose an hour before bed. Intuitive scheduling for experienced users with one rule: at least one day between sessions.
The standard microdose with fresh truffles: 0.5 to 2 grams. Wide range, intentionally so. Sensitivity varies considerably from person to person.
Our recommendation: start with 1 gram. Not 1.5 because you are "pretty experienced with truffles already". Trip experience tells you nothing about microdose response. Fundamentally different dosages, fundamentally different effects.
Nothing after three sessions at 1 gram? Move to 1.5. Still nothing? Try 2, but no higher. Above 2 grams of fresh truffles: minidose territory. Mild visual effects possible. Not the goal.
Take your dose in the morning. Empty stomach, half an hour before breakfast. Chew thoroughly. Some customers mix it into water with lemon juice. That masks the taste and may speed up absorption.
Any variety works technically. In practice the choice matters.
For beginners: Mexicana A. Mild, consistent, forgiving. Tampanensis sits in the same mild category. Atlantis is a step stronger, good for people who already know their response. Stronger varieties like Hollandia or Dragon we do not recommend for microdosing. The margin is too small.
The Psychedelic Microdosing Pack contains pre-measured 1-gram portions. No scale needed.
One advantage over dried mushrooms: consistency. Our truffles are cultivated under controlled conditions. The psilocybin content per gram is far more predictable. When the difference between "enough" and "too much" is half a gram, that predictability counts.
Fifteen years of selling truffles gives a clear picture of where things go wrong. Not dangerous at these dosages. But the difference between a useful experience and a disappointment.
Starting dose too high. Most common by far. Someone has tripped on 15 grams of Hollandia, decides they "can handle it", starts microdosing at 2 grams of Atlantis. Too much. Trip tolerance tells you nothing about the right microdose. Always start at 1 gram.
No rest days. Three consecutive days feels logical when you are enthusiastic. It is the fastest way to stop noticing anything.
Wrong expectations. Subtler than a strong cup of coffee. The value sits in patterns over weeks, not the feeling on any individual day.
Not tracking anything. Without a journal you cannot tell after three weeks whether anything changed. One sentence per day is enough.
Combining with alcohol. Short answer: don't. Alcohol clouds your ability to evaluate the microdose.
The Silicon Valley cliché has not been accurate for years. From our customer support: students, creative professionals, retirees, entrepreneurs. Motivations equally varied.
A noticeable trend: the increase in customers who approach it deliberately and structurally. They read up, choose a protocol, keep a journal, evaluate afterwards. That group has grown significantly. Five years ago it was largely spontaneous. Today there is much more preparation.
Honestly: it does not work the same for everyone. Some notice a difference after a few weeks. Others conclude after a full cycle that the effect was minimal. Both outcomes are normal. We would rather someone has a realistic picture than inflated expectations.
Truffles are not medicine. Serious mental health issues? Professional help first.
Same organism. Truffles (sclerotia) grow underground. Mushrooms are the above-ground fruiting bodies. Chemically: same active compounds.
The difference that matters is legal. In the Netherlands truffles are legal. Mushrooms are not, since 2008. We sell truffles only.
For microdosing there is a practical advantage too. Controlled-cultivation truffles contain a predictable amount per gram. Dried mushrooms vary substantially per batch, per part, even per specimen. If you want to dose exactly 1 gram, you need to know what is in that gram.
Combining psilocybin with non-psychoactive supplements. The best-known formula: the Stamets Stack.
Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus) has been used for centuries in traditional Asian herbalism. Research suggests it may stimulate nerve growth factor (NGF) production. The theory: Lion's Mane amplifies psilocybin's neuroplastic effects, niacin helps distribution.
Another popular combination: psilocybin with ceremonial cacao. Theobromine, a mild stimulant. Some users report it amplifies subtle effects without changing character. Evidence remains anecdotal.
Our advice: start with psilocybin alone first. At least one full cycle. Add Lion's Mane only after that. So you can judge the difference.
The science is far from settled. Plenty of research, mixed picture.
User surveys: predominantly positive. Improvements in mood, creativity, concentration. Consistent across dozens of studies. But blinded studies, where participants do not know if they are getting a real dose or placebo, produce less clear-cut results.
A 2025 meta-analysis in Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews examined fourteen controlled studies with over 1,600 participants. Conclusion: no convincing evidence for a general cognitive benefit. A selective effect on cognitive control processes was found. That does not mean microdosing does not work. It means the mechanism is more complex.
What the 2025 RAND study did show: microdosing is mainstream. An estimated 10 million US adults that year. Among psilocybin users, two-thirds microdosed at least once. Nearly half of all reported psilocybin use days were microdosing, not tripping.
We make no medical claims. Truffles are not medicine. Anyone considering microdosing for mental health concerns should always consult a doctor first.
Fresh truffles are living products. Fridge, 4-8°C. In original vacuum packaging: up to three months. After opening: use within three weeks. Never freeze. Freezing damages cell structure and can affect potency.
Quick check: fresh truffles smell earthy and nutty, feel firm. Slimy, soft or off-smelling? Throw them away.
Keep a journal. Microdosing is subtle. After two weeks you will not remember how you felt on day three unless you write it down. One sentence per day. After a six-week cycle you can look back and see whether there is a pattern.
Start on a quiet day. Not because anything can go wrong. Because you want headspace to pay attention.
Don't expect too much, too soon. Most people notice little after the first microdose. Normal. The value is in the pattern over weeks.
Generally well tolerated. Mild nausea is most commonly reported, especially the first time. Take your dose with a light breakfast if this is an issue.
Tiredness is another one. Usually passes after several sessions. If it persists, the nightcap protocol is an option. Increased irritability? Dose too high. Back to 0.5 grams.
Do not use if pregnant, breastfeeding, taking SSRIs or MAO inhibitors, or if you have a psychiatric condition. Always discuss with a doctor first.

Between 0.5 and 2 grams fresh. Start with 1 gram. Adjust after three sessions if you're noticing too little or too much.
Not daily. The most common schedule is one dose every three days (Fadiman protocol). After four to eight weeks, take at least two weeks off.
Yes. That's the whole point. At a proper microdose you remain fully functional. Avoid driving or operating heavy machinery though.
A trip (10-15 grams) produces visual effects, altered consciousness and intense emotions. A microdose (0.5-2 grams) is subtle. No hallucinations, no altered consciousness. You notice it more in mood and focus than in perception.
Mexicana A and Tampanensis are the most popular choices for their mild and consistent strength. Atlantis is slightly stronger, good for those who know their response. Pre-measured microdosing packs are the easiest entry point for beginners.
Yes. Magic truffles are legal in the Netherlands. Always check your own country's legislation if you live elsewhere.
We advise against it, especially with SSRIs and MAO inhibitors. Always consult your doctor.
Fridge, 4-8°C. Unopened up to three months. After opening, use within three weeks. Never freeze.
Sometimes. Some users feel a light shift in mood or clarity on day one. For others it takes weeks before a pattern emerges. A journal helps enormously.
Then you're above the threshold. Halve the dose next time. A proper microdose produces no visual effects and no noticeable change in consciousness.
