Tip: An XL grow kit holds 2100cc of colonised substrate and often gives several harvests. Trying a strain for the first time? Start with a low dose.
Buying a Magic Mushroom Grow Kit: How to Choose
A magic mushroom grow kit is a tub or bag of substrate that the mycelium has already fully colonised. You place it somewhere warm and bright, out of direct sun, and the first mushrooms appear within one to two weeks. The strain decides how the trip feels, the format decides how much you harvest and how much work it takes. Here is how the options differ.
XXL Grow Bag, Grow Kit or FreshMushrooms?
XXL grow bag 2100g (Mondo): the substrate is fully colonised and needs no activation. Plenty of volume, usually two to four flushes from the same bag.
Medium grow kit 1200cc (Mondo): the familiar grow kit in a tub. Reliable, suitable for beginners and good for four to five flushes.
XL grow kit 2100cc (Mondo): the same grow kit in a bigger size, so more mushrooms per flush.
FreshMushrooms mini 600cc and medium 1200cc: 100% mycelium grow kits. Compact and affordable, and the first mushrooms often show after just one week.
How to Grow Mushrooms With a Grow Kit
Put the grow kit in a bright spot without direct sunlight, at a temperature between 20 and 25 °C. Around 23 °C works best. Keep the substrate moist but not wet and let some fresh air in every day. Harvest before the caps fully open and start dropping spores. After a flush you can reactivate a Mondo grow kit by submerging the substrate in cold water. Can You Store a Grow Kit?
It is best to set it up straight away. If that is not possible, keep it unopened, cool and dark in the fridge (2 to 8 °C), never in the freezer.
Responsible Use
Magic mushrooms contain psilocybin and psilocin. Start with a low dose, do not use them alone if you have little experience, and do not combine them with alcohol or medication. Not suitable for anyone under 18 or during pregnancy.
