What is a Ready to Grow bag?
A Ready to Grow bag contains nutrient-rich substrate that has been inoculated under sterile conditions and is fully colonised. The trickiest part of growing magic mushrooms, inoculation and colonisation, is therefore already done. Where a classic grow kit first needs its mycelium activated, a grow bag moves straight into fruiting as soon as temperature, light and fresh air are right.
With 2100 grams of substrate, these bags are considerably larger than a standard grow kit. More substrate means more nutrients for the mycelium, and you notice that in the number of flushes. With good care, two to four flushes per bag are common, depending on the strain.
Which strain suits you?
Every bag works the same way, the difference lies in the character of the strain: how easily it grows, what it looks like and how strong it is.
Easy and medium strength
If it is your first grow, start with a strain that forgives mistakes. The B+ grow bag copes well with changing conditions and gives large mushrooms with caramel-coloured caps. The Golden Teacher grow bag grows in a stable, predictable way and has a balanced effect. The PES Amazonian and Hillbilly Pumpkin also belong to this group, although the Hillbilly Pumpkin asks for a little more stability.
Strong and immersive
The Blue Ghost and Blue Magnolia are easy to grow, but their effect is a step up from the classics. The Blue Ghost stands out with milk-white caps that bruise strongly blue, the Blue Magnolia with robust mushrooms and an immersive experience full of vivid visuals.
Very strong, for experienced growers
The Yeti grow bag is an albino strain with thick, white mushrooms and slow, controlled growth. The Enigma grows as coral-like masses without a cap, the Bluey Vuitton is a modern Penis Envy hybrid, and the APE Albino Penis Envy grow bag produces compact, pale mushrooms with few spores. These four ask for patience and stable conditions, and are clearly stronger than average.
Getting the most out of your grow bag
Set the bag up as soon as possible after it arrives for the best result. Choose a spot with indirect light and a stable room temperature, and keep the substrate in the original bag. The elastic band around the bag prevents side pins and the clipped corner at the top provides air circulation: seal it with the included sticker after every fresh air exchange. What is the difference between a grow bag and a grow kit?
A grow kit comes in a tub and has to be activated before it fruits. A Ready to Grow bag skips that step and, at 2100 grams, also holds more substrate. That means fewer steps and more reserve for extra flushes.
How many harvests does one bag give?
With good care, usually two to four flushes. Fast, forgiving strains tend to sit at the top of that range, slow strains such as Yeti and APE give fewer but denser flushes.
Can I store a grow bag?
You get the best result by setting the bag up straight after delivery. If you have to wait, store it briefly somewhere cool and dark at 6-8°C and never freeze it.
Do you ship grow bags to every country?
No. Mushroom grow kits are not allowed everywhere, so check the rules in your country. We do not ship these products outside Europe or to the United Kingdom.
