Chaga is the common name for Inonotus obliquus, a fungus that grows mainly on birch trees in cold regions: Siberia, Scandinavia, North America and the Baltic states. It forms dark, charred looking lumps on the trunk, which is where the nickname diamond of the forest comes from. In northern Europe and Siberia the fungus has long been dried and brewed as a tea.
These capsules do not contain dried powder but an extract. McMyco works with 100% fruit body (sclerotia) and uses both water and ethanol, so that the water soluble and the alcohol soluble components both end up in the finished product. That combination is what is meant by a full spectrum extract. It contains 35% polysaccharides, along with betulin, betulinic acid and sterols, compounds typical of a fungus that lives on birch.

Use and storage
