Lion's Mane extract 30 ml: liquid and easy to dose
Hericium erinaceus stands out in the woods. There is no cap on a stem, just a cream-white bundle of hanging spines, usually high up on an old beech or oak. Japan knows the mushroom as yamabushitake and has cooked with it for a long time. As a supplement, though, the fresh mushroom is awkward: without proper extraction its compounds barely come out.
That is why Foodsporen runs a triple extraction based on water and alcohol, using the fruiting body only, so no mycelium grown on grain. The result is an 8:1 extract standardised at 30% polysaccharides. The ingredient list stays short: Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus), water, alcohol, cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) and niacinamide, better known as vitamin B3. Ten drops supply 830 mg of Lion's Mane, 29 mg of cinnamon and 15% of the reference intake for vitamin B3. Alcohol content is 20% vol.
Dosage and storage
Take five drops twice a day, under the tongue or mixed with water, and steer clear of carbonated drinks. A 30 ml bottle holds sixty of those servings, so roughly a month of daily use. The extract suits vegetarians and vegans. Store it cool, dry and dark, not in the fridge, and keep it out of reach of children. This is a food supplement and no replacement for a varied diet. Do not use it while pregnant or breastfeeding, and check with your doctor first if you have health complaints.
Why violet glass
The dropper bottle is made of MIRON violet glass. That glass blocks most of the visible light and lets through only part of the violet spectrum, which shields the contents from the light that degrades quality. The bottle is reusable as well.
