Chaga powder: 100 grams of fruiting body extract
Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) grows as a hard black lump on birch trees in cold regions such as Siberia, Scandinavia and Canada. What gets harvested is not a mushroom with a cap and stem but a sclerotium, a dense mass that sits on the tree for years before it is collected. That hardness is exactly why extraction matters: raw chaga powder releases very little in water.
This jar holds 100 grams of organic chaga extract made from 100% fruiting body. It is a full-spectrum extract obtained with water and ethanol, so both the water-soluble and the alcohol-soluble compounds end up in the powder. The extract contains 6% polysaccharides alongside betulin, betulinic acid and sterols. A single serving of about 1.5 grams provides some 75 mg of those compounds.
How to use the powder
The usual serving is one teaspoon, around 1.5 grams, per day dissolved in hot water. Chaga tastes earthy and slightly bitter, which works well with coffee or a splash of plant-based milk. If you would rather not stir anything into a hot drink, the powder blends just as easily into a smoothie or protein shake. Store the pack at room temperature in a dark spot and keep it out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking medication, talk to your doctor first.
