Dope or Nope LSD test: a colour reaction as a first indication
The LSD test in the Dope or Nope range works with a reagent from the Ehrlich family. A reagent like that changes colour as soon as it meets an indole compound, and LSD is one of them, as are psilocybin and DMT. You compare the colour and the speed of the reaction with the chart in the box. No equipment is needed and the whole thing fits in a coat pocket.
What matters just as much is what this type of reagent does not react to. Substances from the NBOMe and DOx families produce no colour change, even though they are sold on blotter as acid and look identical. So if nothing happens at all, you at least know that the familiar indoles were not detected.
What the result does and does not tell you
See a colour that appears on the chart and the sample probably contains (part of) the matching substance. That says nothing about purity: another substance the test does not recognise may be present, and how much active substance is in there stays unknown. Get no colour or a deviating one and none of the substances in the table has been detected, which leaves you in the dark about what you are dealing with; that can be harmless, but it can also be dangerous. Dope or Nope neither condones nor disapproves of drug use, but accepts that banned substances get used regardless. There is no safe use of drugs. Using the test is at your own risk, gives an indication only and cannot offer 100% certainty; no rights can be derived from it and the producer is not liable for damage or accidents.
Storage and safety
The ampoule contains a strong acid. Keep it out of reach of children and avoid contact with eyes and skin, as that may cause irritation; rinse with plenty of water if it happens. Store the test cool and dark below 35 degrees Celsius in its original packaging. Instructions for use
Dope or Nope test kits are straightforward. Follow these steps:
- 1. Take the ampoule with the test reagent
- 2. Break the ampoule open and add a small sample of your drugs
- 3. Turn around the top you just removed
- 4. Place the top back on the ampoule
- 5. Compare the colour with the supplied chart
