TanFaster: 13.2 mg of beta-carotene a day for your skin
You know beta-carotene from carrots, pumpkin and mango: it's what gives them their orange colour. In TanFaster by Morningstar Pharma it comes in a soft capsule with vegetable oil. That's useful, because beta-carotene is fat-soluble and is absorbed better with a little oil. Vitamin A, which your body makes from beta-carotene, contributes to the maintenance of normal skin. What's in one capsule
Beta-carotene: 6.6 mg (137.5% of the reference intake for vitamin A)
Sunflower oil, refined soybean oil and maize germ oil as carrier
Natural vitamin E (d-alpha-tocopherol): 0.154 mg
Capsule shell: gelatin, glycerin and beta-carotene as colouring
The daily dose of two capsules therefore provides 13.2 mg of beta-carotene.
Taking it
Take one capsule in the morning and one in the evening with some water. Don't take more than two a day. A tub of 60 lasts exactly 30 days.
Who should choose something else
Smokers: beta-carotene supplements are not recommended for smokers, as research in smokers showed a higher risk of lung cancer
Pregnant or breastfeeding: check with your midwife or doctor first
Vegetarians and vegans: the capsule is made from gelatin
Already taking a multivitamin? Add up the vitamin A before you combine them
Sun and sunbeds
TanFaster is not a sun filter and doesn't protect you from burning. So keep using sunscreen with a suitable factor and build up your time in the sun or on a sunbed gradually.

Can my skin turn orange?
With a lot of beta-carotene over a long period, your skin can take on a yellow-orange tint. It's harmless and fades when you stop. Stick to two capsules a day.
Why is there oil in the capsule?
Beta-carotene is fat-soluble. With oil, your body absorbs it more easily.
Is soy a problem?
The soybean oil is refined, so under EU rules it isn't classed as an allergen. If you're very sensitive to soy, ask your doctor.
What goes well with it?
