Metal pipe Skeleton: small size, solid build
This metal pipe is roughly 8.5 cm long and consists of a straight stem with a ribbed section in the middle. Those ridges do more than look good: they give grip, even when your hands are slightly damp. The bowl is deliberately small and matches a single portion of herbs, which keeps your measuring modest by default. Metal also means the pipe shrugs off a drop on a hard floor, something glass rarely manages.
The model arrives in several colours, among them red, green, blue and purple. Which one you receive depends on what is in stock at that moment, so your pipe may look different from the photo on this page. That changes nothing about the shape, the length or the way it works. Only the colour of the coating varies between versions.
Heat and handling
With a metal pipe the heat travels much further along the body than it does with wood or stone. Heat the bowl briefly and hold the pipe by the end furthest from it, because close to the bowl the metal warms up within seconds. Once you are done, leave it to cool before you put it away. A small screen in the bowl takes little effort to fit, stops loose particles and saves you cleaning work later on.
Cleaning and carrying
Residue comes off most easily with isopropyl alcohol. Let the pipe soak for half an hour, run a pipe cleaner through it and rinse with warm water afterwards. Let it dry completely before you use it again. Do this regularly, because fresh residue wipes away in seconds while baked-on deposits stay put. At 8.5 cm the pipe fits into a case, a tin or a coat pocket without taking up space. At Avalon Magic Plants you will also find the nut and bolt pipe, bamboo pipes, corn cob pipes, glass pipes and grinders in the headshop. Every order is packed and shipped discreetly.
