Ginkgo biloba 1:1 extract: maidenhair tree leaf in liquid form
Ginkgo biloba is the last surviving species of a plant group that was already around long before most trees we know today. It originates in China and now stands in streets and parks worldwide, partly because it copes remarkably well with a poor urban climate. The leaf gives it away at once: fan-shaped, often with a cleft down the middle that the name biloba refers to, and an even golden yellow in autumn.
This bottle holds that leaf in liquid, concentrated form. The 1:1 marking refers to the ratio the tincture was prepared at: one part plant material per part finished product, which keeps the extract close to the plant itself. The bottle contains 10 ml and has a dropper, so small amounts can be measured out precisely rather than guessed at.
Use and storage
Follow the directions on the label and shake the bottle before use. Be sparing with a concentrated extract and start low. Keep the tincture cool, dry and dark, out of reach of young children. If you take medication, are pregnant or are breastfeeding, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before starting with any herbal tincture.
