Grow Light - the right light for every stage of cultivation
Mushrooms do not need photosynthesis the way plants do, but light still plays a role in their development. The presence of light guides the direction of fruiting bodies and supports the transition from colonisation to pinning. Too little light and mushrooms grow in all directions. Too much artificial light of the wrong colour changes little about the growth process but wastes energy. The Mondo Europe Grow Light is balanced to the needs of mushroom cultivation.
The lamp has three light modes that each activate a different spectrum. For mushroom growing, white or blue-white light works well in most cases, as it best approximates daylight simulation. The four brightness levels give extra control over light intensity depending on the distance to the substrate. The adjustable telescopic stand runs from 20 to 65 cm, letting you set the lamp at exactly the right height above a fruiting chamber or growing cabinet.
The built-in timer system makes the lamp particularly practical. The three cycles of 3, 9 and 12 hours cover the most commonly used schedules. The 12-hour cycle simulates a full natural daylight situation and is best suited as a sole light source. The 9-hour cycle works well as a supplement when available daylight is insufficient. The 3-hour cycle is a quick supplemental option for short bursts of extra light without disrupting the day-night rhythm of the mycelium.
The lamp runs on USB, making it compatible with any power bank, USB hub or USB adapter. Compact enough for use in a Mondotub, a shotgun fruiting chamber or a small Martha tent. The 9 cm lamp head diameter delivers focused but wide enough light to adequately illuminate a 26x26 cm growing surface at average height.
The Grow Light also works well for houseplants, seedlings and other plants that benefit from supplemental light during winter months or in low-window situations. Browse the full range of growing aids for more mushroom cultivation materials.
