Conrok extraction kit by Black Leaf: the whole set in one case
This set holds everything you need to start extracting oil from plant material. The case contains the Conrok extractor with its emptying unit, sealing ring and screen, a 300 ml can of Black Leaf butane gas, a silicone plate for further processing, a stainless steel dabbing tool with silicone caps and a small silicone box to keep the result in. The case itself is waterproof and gives nothing away, which makes storage and transport straightforward.
The extractor is made of anodised aluminium. That material handles heat, cold and chemicals, so it lasts. Three magnetically attached feet sit under the tube: they keep the extractor steady on a flat surface and leave both your hands free while you work. The emptying unit has a loop that pulls the spent material out in one go. Around 50 grams of dried herbs fills the tube.
The silicone parts
The silicone plate and the storage box are made of food-safe material that, according to the manufacturer, tolerates temperatures of around 230 degrees Celsius. The real advantage is that nothing sticks to it, which with tacky substances is the difference between working and scraping. A glass plate is recommended as the collecting surface. The Black Leaf butane is high in purity; you could refill lighters with it, though that rather wastes it.
Working safely
Butane is highly flammable and its vapour is heavier than air. Work outdoors or in a well-ventilated space, keep open flames, cigarettes and sparks well away, and do not switch appliances on and off while you are busy. Read the Black Leaf manual before you start and follow the order of steps it sets out. Check that the sealing ring is seated properly before use. Store the butane can upright, cool, out of the sun and out of reach of children.
Avalon Magic Plants stocks more in this corner of the range, such as the 110 mm herb press and a folding trimming scissor. Your order is packed discreetly.
