White water lily: alkaloid extract in a 10 ml bottle
Alkaloid extracts are known in the trade as TPA extracts, short for Total Purified Alkaloids. Extraction draws the alkaloids out of the plant, and they are then dissolved in a base of ethanol and water. Nothing else is added: no sugar, no flavouring, no plant residue. This label carries no percentage, unlike the St John's wort extract from the same range.
The plant named on the label is Nymphaea ampla, a white water lily in the family Nymphaeaceae. Where the European Nymphaea alba floats in ditches and ponds, this species belongs to the lowland waters and mangrove country of southern Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. It roots in the mud and sends long stalks up to the surface, where round floating leaves and white flowers with a yellow centre open; the greenish undersides of the sepals carry distinctive dark dots. The species turns up strikingly often in Maya imagery, although researchers disagree about what those depictions actually stand for.

The bottle
You receive a white 10 ml bottle with a wood-look cap holding a pipette, so the liquid can be measured drop by drop. The label reads WHITE WATER LILY, the botanical name NYMPHAEA AMPLA and the line 10 ML, 200+ DROPS. Keep the bottle upright, cool and dark, and out of reach of children. The base contains alcohol, so close the cap firmly after use.
