Capsule Machine (capsule size 00)

Capsule Machine size 00: fewer capsules for the same dose

Size 00 is the roomiest of the common capsule sizes and holds around 650 mg of powder. That changes how many capsules you need at a time: where size 1 might take three, size 00 often gets you there with two. This machine fills 24 of them in a single pass. Set the bottom halves in the holder, spread your powder over them, pack it down and press the lid on. Two minutes later your supply is ready and there is no powder spread across the kitchen table.

Silica bag included

Alongside the machine, the spread card and the tamper, the box contains a silica bag. Gelatin capsules react to moisture and turn soft or tacky if they sit in a damp room for too long. Take the bag out of its plastic wrapper and drop it into the same sealed jar as your capsules to keep the contents dry. The bag is purely there to absorb moisture, it is not edible, and it belongs out of reach of children.

Filling in five steps

1. Pull the empty size 00 capsules apart and stand the bottom halves in the holder.
2. Spread your finely ground powder across the holder with the card.
3. Pack it down with the tamper so more fits in and the capsules do not rattle.
4. Place the top halves in the lid and press the lid down firmly.
5. Lift out the 24 closed capsules and store them dry, with the silica bag alongside.

Is this the right size

If 650 mg per capsule is more than you need, or you would rather swallow something smaller, look at size 0 (around 500 mg) or size 1 (around 400 mg). There is room to go bigger too: size 000 has its own machine. Avalon Magic Plants stocks all four sizes, the matching empty capsules, and the grinders and precision scales for the prep work.
