The Bulldog One 1/4 papers: the size in between
The name 1 1/4 states exactly what you get: a leaf about a quarter longer than the standard short one. Those few extra millimetres change more than you would expect. There is enough paper left to close the roll neatly, without folding anything over or tearing a strip off, which is what happens with a king size leaf when you only use a little tobacco.
The gum line is natural Arabic gum, harvested from acacia resin. It only turns sticky once moistened, so a booklet that spends a summer in your coat pocket still works as intended. The cover is black, with the yellow bulldog head and One 1/4 printed in red, which keeps it apart from the blue king size and the red short papers in the same range.
Which size suits you
If you roll a modest cigarette, a short leaf does the job. Roll with a filter tip and a fuller load, and king size makes more sense. The 1 1/4 is for anyone who finds the short leaf a little tight but ends up with spare paper on king size. Add a slim filter tip and the end stays open, with no loose tobacco finding its way into your mouth.
About The Bulldog
The Bulldog started in 1975 at Oudezijds Voorburgwal 90 in Amsterdam, in a building Henk de Vries took over from his father, and the name came from his own bulldog. That single address grew into a chain with bars and hotels, and the logo now appears on papers, filter tips and grinders. For many visitors to the city, a booklet doubles as a souvenir.
