Giant Curve Black: a lighter in XXL format
This lighter has the shape of an ordinary one, only scaled up considerably. The product photo puts a standard disposable lighter next to it and the difference is easy to see: the Giant Curve is more than twice as long. Its body is waisted, wide at the foot and at the head and narrower in the middle, so it settles into your hand by itself. The black sleeve around it has a matt finish, which keeps it from slipping through your fingers.
The size is also the point of this model. An ordinary lighter goes missing among clutter, disappears into a coat pocket or gets left behind on somebody else's table. This one is impossible to overlook wherever you put it down, so it tends to stay where it belongs. It can be refilled with the common butane gas sold for lighters, meaning you do not have to throw it away once the fuel runs out. There is a bottle opener built into the base as well.
Handling a gas lighter safely
Keep the lighter away from sources of heat and do not leave it in direct sun or in a warm car, as gas expands when it warms up. Do not hold the flame longer than you need to, because the metal hood gets hot. Never puncture the body and never throw a lighter into a fire, not even when it feels empty. Refill it at room temperature, stop before it overflows and wait a moment after refilling before you light it, so any escaped gas can disperse. Store lighters out of reach of children.
