Mascotte Brown Slim Size: 34 narrow sheets of 108 by 44 millimetres
This is the narrow size from the brown Mascotte line. The sheet is 108 millimetres long, the same length as a king size, but at 44 millimetres it is considerably narrower. That means the paper wraps around your filling roughly once instead of one and a half times, and nothing is left over to tear away. It saves paper per joint and gives a tighter, thinner roll. Mascotte calls this format Slim Size; at many other brands the very same sheet goes by the name king size slim.
Unbleached here means the paper skips the bleaching step and is therefore chlorine free, keeping the brown colour of the fibre itself. The weight sits at around 14 grams per square metre, so the paper is thin and asks for a little more patience than a heavier sheet. The gum strip is natural acacia gum taken from the bark of the acacia tree. Mascotte states that its papers are vegan and gluten free and that the packaging is FSC certified. The card sleeve closes with a magnet, so the flap stays shut even when the booklet lies loose among your things.
Slim or king size?
Choose slim if you prefer a thinner joint and would rather not throw paper away. The wider king size from the same line leaves you with paper to spare, which helps when you want to roll inside out or work with a larger filling. Otherwise the paper is identical: the same brown quality, the same gum, the same 34 sheets per booklet.
Storage
Keep the booklet dry and flat. Damp paper tears sooner and the gum strip holds less well. Filter tips are not included in this booklet; buy them separately or take the Brown combi, which comes with tips.
