California 100x0.01g: a precision scale up to 100 grams
This scale is built for small, valuable things. The range runs to 100 grams and the resolution is 0.01 gram, so two decimal places. That is the bracket where jewellery, gemstones, coins, herbs and loose tea get weighed, the sort of items where a tenth of a gram already matters. The body is pocket sized, with a hinged protective cap over the weighing platform.
The display is large and carries a blue LED backlight, so the figures stay readable in a dim room or outdoors. Beyond grams the scale switches to ounces, grains and carats, which helps if you work in imperial units or with stones. Calibration runs through an automatic program: you start it and follow the steps on the display rather than turning a screw yourself. Batteries are in the box, so it works straight away.

Weighing accurately
Put the scale on a flat, solid surface, not on a tablecloth or in your hand. Keep it out of any draught and away from an open window, because at 0.01 gram a moving current of air already shows up. Let the display settle before you read the value. If the readings drift after a while, run the calibration program. Fold the cap back over the platform after use so crumbs and dust stay off the load cell.
