MTT-Scale - 100 X 0.005

MTT-100 Mini Table Top: 100 grams down to 0.005 gram

The MTT-100 belongs to the Mini Table Top range from On Balance and reads up to 100 grams in steps of 0.005 gram. That resolution sits well below what an average pocket scale offers, and the format helps: this one stays on the table instead of disappearing into a jacket. The stainless platform measures 6.8 by 6.8 centimetres and sits slightly raised, so a larger dish fits on top without catching the edge. The display is backlit and tilted towards you, which saves you from leaning over the scale to read a value. The unit itself is 11 x 7.5 x 2.2 centimetres and weighs around 116 grams with the batteries in.

A generous lid covers the entire platform. In a drawer it keeps dust and scratches away from the weighing surface; turned upside down it becomes a bowl for powders, herbs or loose stones. The tare button then subtracts the weight of that bowl again. Besides grams the MTT-100 reads in ounces, carats and grains, four modes altogether. The box holds a 100 gram calibration weight, so you can adjust the scale yourself as soon as readings start to drift. Two AAA batteries are supplied as well, and the display switches itself off after a period without use.

Keeping your readings accurate

Place the scale on a flat, stable surface and keep draughts and vibration away: at 0.005 gram steps an open window shows up immediately. Let the display settle on zero after switching on, before you put anything on the platform. Recalibrate after you have moved the scale or dropped it. Clean the platform with a dry cloth rather than water. At Avalon Magic Plants you will also find the CK-20 milligram scale, the MTT-500 table top scale and the MMZ-200 precision scale.
