Maeng Da Dark Green: dark green kratom powder from Mitragyna speciosa
Kratom is the regional name for the leaf of Mitragyna speciosa, a tree from the forests of Southeast Asia. The species belongs to the madder family, which also gives us the coffee plant, and in the wild it reaches something like fifteen metres. In Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia the leaf is picked, dried and then milled into powder. That powder is what you order here.
Maeng Da is neither a place name nor a botanical variety. It is a Thai term used in the trade to mark a quality grade; it started in Thailand and now travels with leaf sourced from Indonesia and Malaysia too. The words dark green describe the colour of this particular grind, which comes out deeper than standard green Maeng Da. Differences between green, red and white relate to the vein of the leaf and to how long and in what way it was dried after harvest. So do not expect an exact colour code every time: this is a natural product, and one harvest never matches the next down to the shade.
Quantities, storage and points to note
You decide how much to take home: 25 grams to put this type next to another, 100 or 500 grams for regular use, and 1, 5 or 10 kilos for high volume. Need more than that? Email info@avalonmagicplants.com for a quote. Store the powder dry, dark and airtight, ideally in its original bag or a jar that seals properly, since moisture makes ground leaf clump and shortens its life. Keep the bag away from children, avoid kratom during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and speak to your doctor if you take medication. Sales are to adults of eighteen and over.
