Stem and Vein: ground stems and leaf veins of Mitragyna speciosa
The name tells the whole story. Most kratom types are about the leaf: it is dried and milled into powder, which leaves the tough little stems and the thick central vein behind. Stem and Vein is exactly that fraction, collected separately and ground just as finely. The powder is green brown and feels dry and loose between your fingers, much like dried herbs from a kitchen cupboard.
Because this is a different part of the plant than the usual leaf powder, it stands as its own choice in the range rather than a replacement for a type such as Bali or Maeng Da. Avalon Magic Plants makes no claims about what the material does. What you buy is plant material of known origin, offered in a 100 gram bag or a 1000 gram stock pack.
About Mitragyna speciosa
Mitragyna speciosa is a tropical tree in the coffee family, the Rubiaceae, growing naturally across Southeast Asia: Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Borneo. The tree reaches ten to fifteen metres and carries large oval leaves with clearly visible venation. In its countries of origin people have known the tree for generations, and traditionally the fresh leaves were chewed or brewed as a tea. The trade names you meet in web shops, such as red, green and white, refer to the colour of those veins in the leaf.
Storage
Plant material keeps best dry, dark and airtight. Avoid dipping a damp spoon into the bag and close it properly after use, since moisture is the main reason ground herbs start to clump. A cool cupboard works well; a fridge does not, because condensation can form inside the packaging.
Elsewhere in the kratom range
Alongside Stem and Vein, Avalon Magic Plants stocks the familiar leaf powders such as Bali, Borneo, Java, Kapuas, Maeng Da and Thai, plus shredded leaves, extracts and kratom tea. Every order is packed and shipped discreetly.
